Dr. Mel Dorner

Dr. Dorner was born in Metairie, La. He graduated from East Jefferson High school and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University in 1994. He served in the Washington Artillery of Louisiana Army National Guard, and when activated, served with the U.S. Army in Operation Desert Shield.
He began his veterinary career at Animal Care Clinic under the management of Dr. Jack E. Johnson.  When Dr. Johnson retired in 2008, Dr. Dorner acquired the practice.  Dr. Dorner enjoys all fields of veterinary medicine, especially orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation. He is married to Kim Dorner and has two daughters, Ashley and Helayne. His wife, Kim, is employed at Ursuline Academy.
